Adult Acting Class: Crafting Characters with Frances

June 18

Date:
June 18

Lincoln Theater is pleased to present – “Crafting Characters with Frances” a new acting class for adults (ages 18 and up) taught by Frances Mercanti-Anthony.

“This is a class for writers, actors, directors, storytellers, and anyone interested in producing their own works of fiction. We will begin with a blank canvas, and move through the craft of character development weaving in elements of scenic design, costuming, staging, and culminating in a monologue performed before the class. This course is ideal for those looking to stretch their creative muscles, and take risks in their work. Those who have always wanted to try their hand at writing or acting, but have felt intimidated, this is your welcome space! Come create with us!” –Frances

Classes will be held Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 8pm beginning Tuesday June 18 and continuing through Tuesday July 23 (6 classes in total). Enrollment fee is $150. This class is limited to 15 participants.

Why should YOU take an acting class with Frances? Because you’ll love it! But you don’t have to take our word for it… here is what Frances’ former students have to say:

I LOVED it! The humor, heart and knowledge she brought each week kept me laughing, engaged and learning.

Frances is a gem – talented, organized, patient, and encouraging. She created a fun and safe space for people to try things that many had never tried.

It occurred to me over the span of the class that acting/improvising with a small group is a bit akin to falling in love. We all have our quirks and our biases, but when you step over your accustomed comfort zone and say YES to playing with others (strangers!) anything is possible. I daresay, friendships were formed and we surprised ourselves!

Frances has a keen eye and ear, and a way of giving feedback that is enlivening and encouraging.

Please contact the Lincoln Theater office via email or call us at (207) 563-3424 with any questions.
If you need to discuss payment by installments or scholarship options, please email Executive Director Christina Belknap and we will be happy to work with you to make it possible for you to participate!

Curtain going up!
