Heather is the author of the New York Times bestseller Democracy Awakening, as well as the popular nightly newsletter, Letters from an American. Keith Mestrich, a New Harbor resident with over thirty years of experience in the nonprofit world and labor sector, will be Heather’s conversation partner on the stage.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $125, and will go on sale June 19.  All funds will go towards the ongoing restoration of the historic 1852 Greek Revival Round Pond Meetinghouse, the future home of Helping Hands.

Helping Hands of Round Pond is dedicated to providing support to the local community, focusing on the village of Round Pond, through outreach, social events, and educational programming. The historic Meetinghouse is the home of the Helping Hands of Round Pond, and provides an inclusive community gathering space for all.

Heather Cox Richardson is a professor of history at Boston College and an expert on American political and economic history. She is the author of seven books, including the award-winning How the South Won the Civil War. Her work has appeared in The Washington PostThe New York Times, and The Guardian, among other outlets. Her widely read newsletter, Letters from an American, synthesizes history and modern political issues.
